World Environment Day is celebrated on the 5th June, all over the World. The Theme for this year’s celebration, “Beat Plastic Pollution/ Ending Plastic Pollution Globally.” Keeping in mind this theme, the school organized various activities for 5th to 12th Standard students. 

Don Bosco School Baijalbari celebrated World Environment Day with great enthusiasm and dedication. The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental issues and promote sustainable practices among students.

Br. Alexius Condpan SDB, the Principal, addressed the students, highlighting the aims, objectives, and actions to be taken for environmental conservation. He emphasized the need for environmental protection and conservation, inspiring individual as well as collective actions for a sustainable future. He said, together, we can make a difference and create a better future for ourselves and future generations. Let's take action today for a greener tomorrow!

"Today, on World Environment Day, let's pledge to be agents of change! We can make a difference by saying no to single-use plastics. Every small action counts, and together we can create a cleaner, greener future. Let's take responsibility for our planet's well-being and inspire others to join us. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and Restore – for a better tomorrow!"

 Various activities were organized to bring about awareness among the students. 

1. Creative Activities: Students of classes 5 and 6 participated in drawing, painting, and presenting models made from waste materials, showcasing their creativity and commitment to sustainability.

2. Slogan Making: Students of classes 7 and 8 prepared placards with meaningful slogans on World Environment Day, spreading awareness about environmental protection.

3. Essay Writing: Students of classes IX to XII participated in an essay writing competition on the theme connected to World Environment Day, demonstrating their understanding of environmental issues.

4. Solemn Oath: The whole school took a solemn oath, led by the principal, pledging to take responsibility for environmental conservation.

The celebration concluded with the principal thanking everyone for their participation and enthusiasm. The event successfully instilled a sense of responsibility and awareness among students about the importance of environmental conservation.
